Steinberg has released Cubase 16, available in Pro, Artist and Elements versions. The update is aimed at making music production faster and more intuitive, with instruments, effects, sound libraries and workflow changes.
The main new feature is Instrument Stacks, which lets users combine multiple VST instruments, Sampler Tracks and Drum Tracks into one playable instrument. Cubase 16 also includes Omnivocal Basic with Yamaha’s NX vocal synthesis engine, Lyrics in the Key Editor, DrumChain, VocalTouch and a Module FM library with more than 200 presets.
Five sample packs are included: Afro House, Beats & Breaks, K-Pop, Latin Vibes and Organic Sessions. Steinberg also points to improved Waves Illugen integration, Stem Separation for up to six stems, updated Tempo Detection, Ableton Link support, expanded MIDI 2.0 support and audio sends per channel doubled from eight to 16.
Cubase 16 is available through the Steinberg Online Shop and retailers. Users who bought Cubase 15 from 7 October can receive a free downloadable grace period update to Cubase 16.
