Analogue Solutions has launched the Series 700, a recreation of the rare Roland System 700, following its appearance at Synthfest UK. The complete six-block system is available for preorder at £33,000, with individual blocks or combinations also offered.

The company says it reproduced almost every circuit from the original schematics, changing them only where components are no longer available. The only stated functional addition is a basic single-channel MIDI-to-CV converter, mainly intended to sync the 3 x 12-step analogue CV sequencer to MIDI.

The format and build also follow the original design, with custom knobs, slider caps, switches and potentiometers, Tolex-wrapped wooden cabinets and blue-lined lids. The blocks retain dimensions matching their Roland counterparts and fixed configurations due to internal patching.

The 701 keyboard controller, referred to as Block two, is being developed separately as an optional upgrade. Analogue Solutions does not currently plan to sell individual modules for original System 700 units and will provide the original manual alongside a guide to the differences.
