Buenos Aires company Yaeltex has unveiled V3, a new version of its custom MIDI controller platform. The system replaces the one developed since 2020 and introduces a redesigned mainboard, software and physical modules.
The main new feature is the addition of colour displays: V3 units can include up to 16 0.96-inch screens placed in different areas of the controller. The displays show real-time feedback, VU meters and dynamic labels, all user-configurable.
V3 controllers use new Kilomux mainboards, doubling capacity for endless encoders and analogue controls. They also include upgraded microcontrollers, dual USB-C ports for MIDI routing and retro-compatibility with V2 controllers.
The Kilowhat software has been rebuilt as a standalone app for macOS and Windows. It supports control configuration, bulk editing and a model view; support for V2 devices is due in a later update.
