Arturia launches MiniFreak 49 with a 49-key keyboard and XYZ touch matrix

TECHNOLOGY

Arturia has announced MiniFreak 49, a new hardware version of the MiniFreak with 49 keys instead of the original model’s 37, upgraded panel controls and a new XYZ touch matrix.

Like the existing MiniFreak, the 49-key model offers six voices spread across the stereo field, dual-engine architecture, analogue filters and VCAs per voice. It includes more than 30 oscillator modes with algorithms from Arturia, Mutable Instruments and Noise Engineering.

The XYZ matrix can be used for performance, modulation and navigation, including browsing presets or displaying visuals that react to playing. The larger form factor also allows for a bigger OLED display.

MiniFreak 49 includes three FX slots with 13 algorithms, a 64-step sequencer, four modulation lanes, an arpeggiator, 350 factory presets and 162 user slots. It is available now for €799 and includes a copy of the MiniFreak V software synthesizer.
