TECHNOLOGY

Audient expands its line-up with Horizon, a range of high-end audio interfaces connected via Thunderbolt and currently compatible only with Mac. The listed models are Horizon 8P, Horizon 16 and Horizon 32.

Horizon 8P is aimed at higher-end home and project studios, with eight mic/line inputs on combo jack/XLR connectors and preamps derived from the ASP8024 console. The range can be expanded via ADAT by up to 16 additional channels.

Horizon 16 and Horizon 32 target larger studios, facilities and venues: the first offers 18 channels of line input and output, while the second reaches 34 analogue channels, with further ADAT expansion. Up to four Horizon interfaces can be combined in one system, for a maximum of 200 inputs and outputs.

All three models are 1U rackmount units with a high-resolution colour screen. The reported prices are £2,199 / €2,499 / $3,499 for Horizon 8P and Horizon 16, and £2,799 / €3,299 / $4,299 for Horizon 32.
