Bubblegum brings free note-level pitch editing to producers

TECHNOLOGY

Bubblegum is a new free plugin developed by Your Smile is Art. It lets producers adjust the pitch, timing and duration of individual notes within recorded audio, including notes played together in chords.

The plugin analyses audio and displays detected notes in a piano-roll-style interface. Users can move notes to different pitches, reposition them in time or change their duration, correcting performances or reshaping musical phrases without recording them again.

Bubblegum is available for Windows and macOS in VST3 and AU formats, while a Linux version is in beta. The workflow involves loading the plugin onto an audio track and using the Transfer function to capture material for editing.

It includes global Pitch and Formant controls, a quantize function to move detected pitches to the nearest semitone, and six editing modes: Main, Vibrato, Drift, Slide, Volume and Formant. The plugin is free to download from the Your Smile is Art website, with optional donations.
