Raye says scalpers used AI bots for fake presale registrations

Raye said the presale for her one-off Royal Albert Hall concert received 1.8 million sign-ups for 5,000 seats. According to the artist, scalpers used AI bots to create hundreds of thousands of fake registrations.

Presale registration ran through a page hosted by co:brand. To reduce the risk of exploitation by scalpers, Raye’s team chose to manually review the list and select people believed to be real fans.

The concert, titled This Symphony May Contain Hope, is scheduled for October 23. Raye will perform This Music May Contain Hope in full with The Heritage Orchestra and Flames Collective.

According to IQ, during the presale the Royal Albert Hall website received 5 million access requests and some fans were unable to complete purchases for 45 minutes. The case comes as the UK government prepares rules against reselling tickets above face value.
