Five hidden Serato functions on the Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4

Digital DJ Tips has outlined five less obvious Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4 functions when the controller is used with Serato. The unit works with Serato DJ Lite and with Serato DJ Pro if the user has a licence, but it was designed first for Rekordbox and some controls are not clearly labelled.

All the functions use the Shift button. They include controlling Vinyl mode with Shift + Out, using Shift with the tempo fader to reposition the slider without immediately changing speed, and starting playback from a cue point by moving a channel fader.

The guide also mentions using the crossfader with a fast curve for a cleaner cut, Shift + Cue to return to the start of a track, and Shift with the jogwheel to move quickly through a track. Shift with the Load buttons can sort the library by BPM or by artist.
